3D Environment Propsal

3D Environment – Victoria Mill > Front Elevation/Tunnel/Courtyard LH side Tennis Court/Chess Board - SA Proposal

Me, Tom and Inrek are doing the Victoria Mill together as its the most complex and hardest building to model.

There's the Courtyard, Tunnel, Chimney, Mill building and the Apartment blocks to do.

As there are 3 of us we are going to have a particular area to create and as Inrek and Tom are much more advanced in 3D studio max, the Courtyard would be the best thing for me to do.

The tunnel is another area next to that and as you go through the tunnel the courtyard is there, I could do the tunnel as well. Making the camera go through the tunnel and then seeing the courtyard would be cool.

My intention would be making the camera look around in the tunnel as it has chains and different type of textures inside of it, then seeing a light at the end and then seeing the courtyard being developed/constructed from the ground up. I don't know how hard that would be to do, but that is the idea I have.

START: A view of Victoria Mill from the front, the camera then heads for the tunnel area of the mill. PROGRESS TO: The camera shows the inside of the tunnel with all of the chains inside, it slowly then heads forward which you can then see a light. The camera then goes through the light seeing nothing there, but a few seconds later each place like the tennis court and chess board gets constructed making everything come together.

END: The camera then goes to each area showing it in its full detail, then panning out seeing it from above so you can see the whole thing as an Ariel view.

My 3D production work

Last week i used a microphone to create sounds, now i used a programme called Reason song file. I feel that its much better than using a microphone to create sounds when theres a whole programme with different sounds that you can create your self and make what ever you want with it. When you know how to use it, its very easy. But just looking at it without knowing anything about it would look like its difficult.
I would rather use that to create sound for my model than making my own sounds using a microphone.

Planning of the camera and narration

For when i come to use the camera to capture my 3D model what happens in the background is important.
And my idea was to have mellow music playing in the background and for a narrator to tell the story of masons mill.
The visual side would be the camera going to each main part of the model, like the chess board, tennis court and the 2 buildings. But while that's happening it will fade out to words of what the narrator is saying, not only does it give you a break from looking at the same thing but is also good for deaf people who cant hear what the narrator is saying but they can read what he is saying by the words coming on the screen. And after he has read abit it will fade to another part of the view and it will just be the music playing then he will continue over the music and that's when it will fade to the words again.
For this to happen i would have to book the narrator and write the script so he knows what to say. Not only that but the music side would have to be created because you cant use already made music. I have already got an idea of the style of music, its just finding someone to create the music.
